Abstract
Bacterial meningitis is an infection of the meninges by bacteria and the classic triad of fever, neck stiffness and altered mental status may be present. In this case, we report a patient who was first diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and treated as thus. A hidden spinal cord infection was later found when the patient complained of aggravation of symptoms of headache and neck pain. Thus, spinal MRI may be helpful in finding spinal infection, otherwise hidden under the similar symptoms of headache and neck stiffness.
